What can I say about chocolate? By far everyones favorite! If you are looking for a great recipe that's the one! Just don't tell anyone that it was found on the back of Hershey's Cocoa box. The secret is that instead of using the Hershey's Cocoa I use the Ghirardelli Ground Cocoa.
- 2 cups sugar
- 1-3/4 cups all-purpose flour
- 3/4 cup Ghirardelli Ground Cocoa
- 1-1/2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1-1/2 teaspoons baking soda
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 2 eggs
- 1 cup milk
- 1/2 cup vegetable oil
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 1 cup boiling water
Heat oven to 350°F. Grease and flour two 9-inch round baking pans. Combine dry ingredients in a large bowl. Add eggs, milk, oil and vanilla; beat on medium speed of mixer 2 minutes. Stir in boiling water (batter will be thin). Pour batter into pans. Bake 30 to 35 minutes or until wooden pick inserted in center comes out clean. Cool 10 minutes; remove from pans to wire racks. Cool completely. Makes 12 servings.
Brazilian Brigadeiro Frosting:

In a 3 - quart sauce pan, cook condensed milk, Ghirardelli cocoa and butter over medium heat. Stirring constantly with a wooden spoon, until the mix is not sticking in the bottom of your pan.
Divide the frosting in two portions one portion you will use to fill the cake and the other to decorate.
