Manuela has been asking for the past 6 months to do a sleep over with her best friend. I tried to explain her that she is too young but she keeps dreaming about it.
For her fifth birthday I planned a pretending sleep over party (or also called as sleep under). All the kids had to come wearing their pajamas. Almost everything was decorated with stars.
For the decoration I worked with light pink because that's the birthday girl favorite color. Also added light blue, white, fuchsia and silver to boost a little bit.
The birthday girl had a few requests. The first was that she wanted to play with flashlights with her friends and the second that she wanted stars in the decoration. For the room to be darker to make it possible for the kids to play with the flashlights I decided to create these crepe paper curtains.
For the table cloth I used a vintage bed quilt which I bought in an antique shop. The crochet garland is from Shop Sweet Lulu one of my favorites party supplies shops. The light stars and the balloons are from Michaels, the crepe paper and the twinkle lights from Target. The stands you can find similar ones at Target and Shop Sweet Lulu.
For the pretend sleep over I did a small tent area with pillows, garlands, books and sleeping bags. So the kids could play.
For the cake and sweets this was the first time I decided to do everything by myself. I did pink star butter cookies, chocolate fudge (also called brazilian brigadeiro), gluten free vanilla cupcakes in case of allergies and a chocolate cake.
To style the cake and the butter cookies cake I put this porcelain flowers that I bought in a Flea Market.
Always some fruit!
For the craft they had to decorate precut stars with stickers and crayons.
The cake time it's always their favorite time so everyone can attack the sweets.
The party favor was a book called Pajama Time which I packed with this cute silver star blue paper.
